The following is the current calendar for the Pop Culture talks that will be led by Dr. Liza Strakhov.
All events will take place in Marquette Hall 105.
Tue, February 7: screening of Miayazaki's "Spirited Away" (time TBD)
Wed, February 8, 5pm: Pop Culture Night -- Hayao Miyazaki
Thurs, March 23, 5pm: Pop Culture Night -- Beyonce's Lemonade
Wed, April 19, 4PM: Screening of Black Mirror's "San Bernardino" episode, followed by a discussion at 5PM.
Friday, April 6, 5PM: "Anything Goes with Shakespeare" Eisenberg Reading Room of Sensenbrenner Hall.

- First Year English mandatory staff meeting: Thursday, August 25 at 10AM in Lalumiere 176, followed by lunch at 12:15 in Marquette Hall 105.
- Marquette University/UW-Milwaukee Picnic: Friday, August 26 from 4-7pm everyone involved in Marquette's and UWM's writing programs is invited to bring their people and dogs to Hubbard Park for an outdoor celebration of the new academic year. - RC1 Unit 3 planning session Wednesday, September 28 at 4:30 in Marquette Hall common room and on Thursday, September 29 at 12:45, location TBD.

- Rojtmann Lecture: Poet Jay Wright on Tuesday October 25 at 4PM in Weasler Auditorium.

- AEGS Town Hall Meeting, Tuesday, November 15 at 5PM in MH 105.
- Stranger Things Pop Culture Talk, Thursday, November 10 at 5PM in MH 105. Come for a discussion of the show, pizza, and soda.
- Ott Memorial Writing Center Writer Fight Club, Thursday, November 10 at 6PM in Beaumier Suites BC.
